I recieved this mail from a lovely young lady;
“I saw on Facebook this morning that you are doing skin consultations and I would love to receive one if that’s possible? I cleanse my skin morning and night and would use a moisturizer for oily skin and that’s about it! I do suffer from spots, have dark circles and some wrinkles are starting to show around my eyes so any advice on moisturizer, face masks, eye creams would be brilliant”.
This is my reply, (I also did up a Guinot Skincare which I will post later).
I’m guessing you’re skin isn’t oily.. it’s just that you have an odd spot??
So I thing we’ll treat the fine lines as a priority with a product to clear up the spots.. so your skin gets a chance to repair and recover?

Start with the Balancing Cleanser, €29.99 (you could also use the Tripple Action Cleanser €29.99 initially for your chin), but the balancing cleanser is nicer and still does a great job.. both remove eye makeup and you don’t need a toner with the balancing cleanser!). Get the Clear Skin Tonic €38.00 if going down the Triple Action Cleanser.
Moisturiser – The Essential Hydration Cream €39.99 is a beautiful moisturiser which brings relief to irritated skin by soothing, reducing inflammation (of your spots), and boosting the skins natural barriers).
Micro Cleanse Super Scrub €39.99 contains 12% glycolic acid (my favourite beauty ingredient .. don’t get me started!! 😉 It’s great on problem skin as well as an anti ageing product.
Balancing and Pore Refining Mask €33.95 is a good weekly mask treatment and can be used after the super scrub.
Absolute Eye Complex €41.95 for dark circles and shadows.
Alpha H don’t have an eye mask so you could use the Guinot one?
Alpha–H Liquid Gold €39.99 is a multiple award-winning skin perfector. This powerful one-step treatment delivers the benefits of an exfoliator, serum and moisturiser to give your skin an amazing boost. Benefits include clarifying and brightening the complexion. It reduces the appearance of blocked pores, acne, pigmentation, sun damage, fine lines and wrinkles.
It works by jump starting the skin’s metabolism, tightening enlarged pores and giving a brighter, clearer complexion. The glycolic acid desquamates the sluggish dead skin allowing the newer cells to appear. Alpha-H Liquid Gold also makes an effective acne treatment when used in conjunction with other blemish fighting products from the Alpha H range, as well as an anti-aging treatment all in one.
The product should be used at night after cleansing with a non-foaming cleanser, (e.g. Balancing Cleanser). Use 2-3 times per week on non-consecutive days. Use it on it’s own.. in other words don’t apply a moisturiser or night cream over it, (unless your skin is very dry and in this case allow the Liquid Gold to work for at least 10 minutes before applying a night cream). Apply a few drops to a dry cotton wool disc, in the same way you would use a toner, and apply all over the face and neck concentration on the problem areas. You can even sweep the treatment over the top of the chest if this is an acne- prone area or the back of the hands.
Liquid Gold is made using glycolic acid — 5% glycolic acid, to be exact. Glycolic acid is an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) that can effectively exfoliate skin to promote cell turnover, leading to smooth skin. It’s one of my favourite beauty ingredients and I have seen the amazing effectiveness of it over the years. It’s also excellent on very sensitive or red skin too like acne-rosacea.
It comes in a 100ml bottle and that should last for a minimum of 3 months but probably more like 5 months. If you use Liquid Gold you do need to use a sun screen.

So to summerise;
Taking care of your skin now will pay massive dividends when you are older.. My mother always told me “the bag or shoes or jumper you have now will be long gone in 30 years but you will have your skin.. and if your skin looks well you can go out in jeans and a t-shirt and still look great.. invest in your skin and you will be grateful as you get older”.
The last points I’d make are to ensure you are getting good sleep to help your skin repair and take in skincare ingredients. And try to have a very “clean” diet.. plenty of fresh food as much as possible.. cut down on dairy, coffee, sugar etc… all the usual culprits.. get lots of water in or green tea, ginger water etc.
